'Twas a Spooky Saturday at SAYA

TLC, Sherlock Holmes, and twitches (twin witches). Where else could you find South Asian youth dressed as pop icons, amine characters, fictional and nonfiction figures on a Saturday? Easy, SAYA’s Halloween party. High school students from across SAYA sites gathered at the Elmhurst Center for an afternoon filled with fun, food and, in the tradition of Halloween, sugar. 

Our high school students showed off their competitive sides between a few rounds of musical chairs, capture the ball, and a dance off. A cheetah against urban soul musicians TLC for capture the flag, Sherlock Holmes claiming a spot in musical chairs, and a dance-off between Maverick from Top Gun and Malala Yousafzai had the hours slip by before we knew it, 

Needless to say, it’s always a great time when our high school youth take a break from their usual social circles to join in on SAYA’s Halloween fun!
